YMCA offering youth sports leagues, clinics

San Angelo’s YMCA, 353 S. Randolph St., is offering youth sports events in the upcoming months. Youth volleyball league: Registration is ongoing through Feb. 22 for girls in grades 3-8. Cost is $55 for YMCA members and $70 for non-members. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.

The six-week season begins in early April. Games are played on weekdays.

The oldest division will end the season with a single-elimination tournament.

 

Youth volleyball clinic: Registration is open through Feb. 29 for girls in grades 3-8. Clinic dates are Feb. 29-March 3 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the YMCA gymnasium.

Cost is $45 for YMCA members and $60 for non-members. Financial aid is available. Each participant will receive a clinic T-shirt.

 

Youth basketball tournament: Registration for the competitive double-elimination tournament ends Feb. 29 for boys and girls in grades 4-6. The tournament will be held March 4-6.

Cost is $150 per team. First place teams in each division will receive awards and first and second place teams will receive individual player medals.

 

Annual Spring Break Learn to Swim week: Registration for Learn to Swim week is ongoing at the YMCA for children ages 3-14. The 30-minute classes will be held March 14-18. Cost is $5 per child.

 

Youth tennis clinic: The YMCA, in conjunction with the Concho Valley Tennis Association is registering players over seven years of age for its spring tennis clinic through March 21. The clinic will be held from March 21-April 27 at the Concho Valley Tennis Center near Glenn Middle School. Sessions are once a week and based on divisions.

Cost is $55 for youth quick start sessions and $65 for intermediate and adult sessions.

 

Junior team tennis leagues: Registration is ongoing for the spring junior team tennis league for children up to 18 years of age through April 1.

Cost is $14 per player. The league begins April 3 and will be held at the Concho Valley Tennis Center near Glenn Middle School.
