A woman was transported to Shannon Medical Center Wednesday evening after an incident where she was allegedly stabbed.
Police responded to the 100 block of West Avenue N at approximately 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The woman told police she was attacked and said she had been stabbed. A male was taken into custody at the scene.
According to a report from the SAPD, officers responded to 106 W. Avenue N, the residence of Paul Sopkowski, for a reported stabbing. Officers located a female victim who had bruising on her face and a wound to her arm. She was transported to Shannon for evaluation of non-life threatening injuries.
The Criminal Investigation Division responded to the hospital for follow-up investigation. Sopkowski was located inside a small shack behind the residence on Avenue N and was taken into custody without incident.
He was charged with Class A assault family violence.
