Winning Lottery Ticket Claimed Two Days Before Expiration

A $14.25 million dollar lottery ticket purchased in Abilene this summer, has finally been claimed, just two days before the expiration date.

The winner has decided against as much publicity as possible and had a trustee, Catherine Kim Fowlkes, with AHSODESKA, claim the prize for them.

The unidentified winner accepted a sum of $10,072,040.86.

The ticket was purchased at H-E-B in Abilene on June 17.

H-E-B received a check for selling the winning ticket in the amount of $142,696.06.

The Powerball so far has reached $229 million dollars and the drawing is tonight at 10:12 p.m. central time.
