Wednesday sports update, 6/22

No more Dirk Nowitzki? Multiple reports out this morning are confirming the seven-foot German plans to opt out of his remaining contract with the Dallas Mavericks. Nowitzki has spent his entire 18-year career in Dallas and has expressed interest in making it to 20 in the past.

The Texas Rangers winning streak is over. The Cincinnati Reds scored three runs in the first inning to grab an early lead they would never relinquish, winning 8-2 in the end. Colby Lewis gets credit for the loss.

The Houston Astros continue turning their season around. A 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels brings their record back to ever at 36-36. They aren’t out of it yet, but they need to continue solid play to completely salvage this season.
