Wednesday sports update, 4/06

After a surprising loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Golden State Warriors now need to win the rest of the games on their schedule to overtake the Chicago Bulls for best regular season record of all time.

The Houston Astros beat the New York Yankees 5-3 in their season opener. It was a very cold game at Yankee Stadium and it showed in the way the game was played. Both teams making very small mistakes not likely to happen in typical baseball weather.

Nelson Cruz has started the season red hot, too bad he plays for the Seattle Mariners now. Seattle dismantled Texas Rangers 10-2 last night. Cruz got on base four times and scored three runs. Tony Barnette is credited with the loss for the Rangers.
