A main water break occurred Monday on SAC Avenue and College Hills Boulevard that could affect many surrounding blocks.
According to the City of San Angelo’s Water Distribution Department, a warehouse supervisor said the number of affected residents had not yet been determined, but the break could affect those in the near vicinity – a four or five block radius.
He said the break has to be isolated in that area to keep from shutting off a great deal of resident’s water services.
A wait on emergency line locates was needed and could take up to two hours to begin the repairs. In the meantime, City workers are isolating the area.
The supervisor said only four City workers that handle leaks are on standby and more workers will be called out, should they need additional help.
