Offices of San Angelo’s Women, Infants and Children, or WIC, program will be closed March 19-22 as the staff trains on a new software program.
The closures will include the program’s main office downtown and its three satellite locations. WIC clients are encouraged to schedule appointments prior to March 19. WIC plans a light schedule of appointments the week of March 26-29 as staff gains familiarity with the new software.
The software will allow WIC to convert to a paperless system. Among the advantages for clients are they will receive text and email appointment reminders, paper prescriptions will be eliminated for non-contract baby formulas, and client information from other clinics will be accessible to WIC’s staff.
