UPDATE: SAPD investigating drive-by shooting in North San Angelo

UPDATE: The San Angelo Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred in the 700 block of East 18th and Oakes streets. There were people inside the home at the time of the shooting but no injuries were reported. A dog in the backyard was hit by one of the shots fired and was euthanized at the scene.

According to press release from SAPD, there was evidence of several shots that hit the home. Police do not have any suspects at this time but believe the incident was gang-related. Police are looking for an SUV-type vehicle that was seen fleeing the scene after the shots were fired.

The SAPD is asking anyone with tips to call Det. Carlton Kolbe at 325-657-4351 or contact San Angelo Crime Stoppers. The first person to provide information identifying the suspects leading to an arrest could receive a $1,000 cash reward. Anonymous tips can be reported to the 24-hour tip hotline at 325-658-HELP.

According to SAPD Public Information Officer Tracey Gonzalez, there were no reports of any injuries.
