Edwin Rascon, the suspect in a March 11 homicide in Andrews, was apprehended in Georgetown at 5 a.m. Saturday, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. An Amber Alert was issued Friday for Rascon’s 1-year old son, Iviz, who authorities say Rascon abducted after fatally shooting 23-year old Robert Martinez in Andrews.
Iviz was recovered late Friday after authorities say an unknown person turned him in at a Stripes store in Odessa. A manhunt continued for Rascon.
A DPS release early Saturday confirmed that Rascon had been captured and taken into custody in Williamson County. No further information is available as the case remains under investigation.
