The University of Texas formally announced Saturday that Tom Herman will be the 30th head football coach for the Longhorns.

As reported by KVUE-TV, Herman joins UT after two years as head coach at the University of Houston. In his time at UH, he received a 22-4 record.

“The opportunity to come back to Texas is a dream come true for me and my family, and I can’t thank President Fenves and Mike Perrin enough for providing me with this incredible opportunity,” Herman said in a release. “Longhorn football has been, and always will be a national power, winning and playing for national championships with great pride and passion, supported by an unbelievable fan base.”

Herman’s contract is pending approval by the UT System Board of Regents, and details were not announced. However, he will be introduced at a Sunday news conference.
