(UPI) — Authorities said they are searching for an Uber Eats driver they believe shot a customer dead in Atlanta over the weekend, after delivering food.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 30-year-old as Ryan Thornton, his family told WXIA-TV. Thornton had graduated from Morehouse College in May and recently started a new job.

Witnesses told Atlanta police Thornton ordered food late Saturday night through the smartphone app Uber Eats, Atlanta Police Spokeswoman Stephanie Brown said.

Thornton had gotten the food from the driver and turned to walk away when the shooting occurred.

“Words may have been exchanged,” Brown said.

The driver fired several shots from his car, hitting Thornton multiple times, Atlanta police told NPR. The driver fled in a white Volkswagen.

Authorities haven’t disclosed a possible motive for the shooting, and the shooter is still at large.
