Two San Angelo men killed in three-vehicle collision in Llano County Wednesday

Two San Angelo men were killed Wednesday morning in a three-vehicle collision on State Highway 29, 1.7 miles west of Llano.

The collision happened at approximately 5:10 a.m. Wednesday.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said in a press release Wednesday that 45-year-old Anthony Lee Reina was driving a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck, towing a 2013 Cimmaron HE west on Highway 29 approaching the State Highway 71 intersection. Reina had a passenger, 64-year-old Tutt Hugh Garnett, of Llano. The Cimmaron was being steered by 19-year-old Bailey Reina.

According to the DPS report, Darron Walton, 37, of San Angelo, was traveling south on Hwy 71 in a 2005 Ford Expedition, approaching Hwy 29 when he disregarded a stop sign. The vehicles collided killing Walton and his passenger, 36-year-old Brian Keith Owen of San Angelo.

Walton and Owen were pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Bebe Piatt.

Anthony Reina, Garnett, Walton and Owen were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Reina and Garnett were not injured. Bailey Reina was reportedly not wearing her seatbelt and suffered incapacitating injuries.

The crash was investigated by DPS Trooper Garrett Huntington of Llano, who received assistance from Trooper James Folmar of Llano.
