Two Pennsylvania teens killed in car crash after going live on Facebook

Two teens were killed in a crash after a tractor-trailer plowed into the back their car as it sped down Interstate 380 in Pennsylvania Tuesday.

Chaniya Morrison-Toomey, 19, had just launched a live broadcast on Facebook from her vehicle, according to the Scranton Times-Tribune.

The final moments of their lives included a flash of lights, screeching tires and seven minutes of blackness, all captured on the live-streamed video after Brooke Miranda Hughes, 18,  held her phone near her face while driving for the internet to see.

Morrison-Toomey and Hughes were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer that slammed into them from the back was uninjured.

Video of the incident was posted on Hughes’ Facebook page, where it has been watched more than 7,000 times.

The incident remains under investigation as their has been speculation that Hughes’ vehicle had a donut tire and non-working rear lights.
