Two more candidates filed their candidacies for the San Angelo City Council, Friday Jan. 22. raising the number of candidates to seven on the May 7 ballot.
On the ballot you have the police chief’s race and the District 1, 3 and 5 Council seats. The new candidates are Trinidad Aguirre Jr. filing for the District 1 seat and Matthew Lane Carter filing for the District 5 seat.
If elected, the new City Council members will serve a three-year term. The elected police chief will serve a four-year term.
Those previously filed for District 3 are Daniel Cardenas and Harry Thomas. Those already filed for District 5 are R.A. Cantrell and Elizabeth Grindstaff. Tim Vasquez is currently the only one who has filed for the Police chief’s race.
