Two charged with armed robbery in downtown Dallas

DALLAS (AP) — A man and a woman have confessed to robbing a man at gunpoint in downtown Dallas.

The Dallas Morning News reports (http://bit.ly/1RJrFlZ ) that 31-year-old Dewayne Taylor and 19-year-old Ivory Wilks are charged with aggravated robbery.

Police say a man was sitting on a bench around 8 p.m. Wednesday when Taylor pointed a handgun at him and demanded money. When the man handed over money, Taylor gave it to Wilks before the pair fled on foot.

Officers arrived at the scene within minutes of the robbery. Other officers heard descriptions of the suspects over the police radio and located the two at a nearby transit station.

Police say Taylor was carrying the gun and stolen money when he was arrested.

Taylor and Wilks are being held in the Dallas County Jail.
