As of 5 p.m. Tuesday strong storms are moving through the northwest Hill Country and towards Brownwood. Storms are expected to continue to develop along the dry line.
Expect the chance of severe to strong thunderstorms to continue to develop into the early evening hours, mainly across the Heartland, northwest Hill Country, around Eldorado and Sonora and parts of southeast Concho Valley. San Angelo is just to the west of the severe weather risk, so there’s only a slight chance of precipitation.
Some of these storms could become severe. The main threats will be very large hail, damaging winds and dangerous lightning. If a thunderstorm is in the area, get indoors and stay away from windows. It’s also important to have more than one way to receive warnings, in case the electricity goes out.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for parts of southeast West Central Texas until 10 p.m.
