Traffic Enforcement Brings on 28 Violations

The San Angelo Police Department’s Traffic Section conducted a traffic enforcement operation between 7 and 8:00 a.m. this morning.

The operation was conducted at the Central Freshman campus, Trinity Lutheran, McGill Elementary, Crockett Elementary, San Jacinto Elementary, TLCA Elementary, Bowie Elementary, Holiman Elementary, Glenmore Elementary, and Bonham Elementary.

Twenty-eight citations were issued throughout the different locations which included one driving with an invalid license, two child safety seat violations, 19 speeding citations, seven warnings and six miscellaneous citations.

After this initial traffic operation, 36 more citations were offered in the Houston Harte area until 10 a.m.

The citations issued included 26 speeding tickets, three warnings and 10 miscellaneous violations.

SAPD reminds drivers that the Texas Transportation Code requires drivers nearing stopped emergency vehicles with lights activated to change lanes or slowdown by 20 MPH below the speed limit.
