Thursday sports update, 6/30

The Texas Rangers let a late lead slip away Wednesday night. Winning by four in the ninth, Texas gave up six runs to the New York Yankees to lose 9-7. Sam Dyson, who gave up a three-run homerun to start the ninth gets saddled with the loss.

The most decorated Olympic athlete in history is back for more. Michael Phelps won his qualifying race and will now get the chance to add to his medal count in Rio de Janeiro. Also scoring spots for themselves in Rio were Missy Franklin and Katie Ledecky. Once again, the U.S. swim team looks very strong and should earn plenty of medals.

The Indianapolis Colts have locked up quarterback Andrew Luck with the biggest contract in NFL history, six years, $140 million.
