Thursday sports update, 5/12

It was a great season for the Dallas Stars, but now it’s over. Dallas falls to the St. Louis Blues 6-1 in Game seven of the Western Conference semi-finals. Patrick Eaves scored the Stars only goal.

The Texas Rangers top the Chicago White Sox 6-5. Third baseman Adrian Beltre put the Rangers on top for good in the sixth, making up for a throwing error earlier in the inning. Beltre’s streak of 44 games without an error comes to an end.

The Houston Astros win after seven innings of extra baseball. First baseman Marwin Gonzalez hit a two-run shot in the 16th inning, giving Houston the 5-3 win over Cleveland. The two teams used a combined 18 pitchers and threw just under 500 total pitches.
