The chances are high that the Concho Valley will receive severe thunderstorms Sunday night.
According to Senior Forecaster Terry Huber at the National Weather Service in San Angelo, West Central Texas is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m. Sunday.
It is expected that some thunderstorms capable of producing hail up to 2 inches and damaging winds greater than 70 mph will move east across West Central Texas.
The best chances of thunderstorms will be in the afternoon and into the overnight hours Sunday, he said.
There is also a possibility of deadly weather such as an isolated tornado and dangerous lightening.
The National Weather Service therefore recommends that the citizens of San Angelo stay alert to all of these possible hazards from Sunday afternoon until midnight.
