ORIGINAL STORY: Three people were injured in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon in the 5300 block of Foster Road.

Officer Tracy Gonzalez with the San Angelo Police Department Public Information Office said police were dispatched to a major motor vehicle crash with rollover at 3;27 p.m. Tuesday. When officers arrived on scene, they located a 2002 Chevrolet Z-28 with two occupants which had collided with a City of San Angelo Storm Water pickup truck.

The driver of the Z-28, a female in her teens, and her male teenage passenger were each transported to Shannon Medical Center. The female had non-incapacitating injuries and the male was reported to have incapacitating injuries, according to Gonzalez.

After preliminary investigation, police said they believe Z-28 was traveling northbound toward Loop 306 at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The Z-28 went into a broadslide. The City vehicle was traveling southbound on Foster Road. The male driver attempted to avoid the Z-28, but collided with the passenger side of the vehicle.

The pickup possibly went airborne, Gonzalez said, and flipped onto its rooftop. The driver of the pickup was transported to a local hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

No further details are available as the crash remains under investigation.
