Thinking about running for City Council? Info packets now available at City Hall

Candidate packets for the San Angelo City Council are now available for the May 6 elections online at or at City Hall, 72 W. College Ave.

Positions up for election May 6 are San Angelo Mayor and Single Member District seats 2, 4 and 6. SMD 2 is currently represented by Marty Self; SMD 4 by Lucy Gonzales; and SMD 6 is represented by Charlotte Farmer. Winners will serve a four-year term.

The filing period for candidates will begin Jan. 18 and continue through Feb. 17. Packets can be downloaded at Physical copies can be picked up from the City Clerk’s Office, Room 210, on the second floor of City Hall from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

Once the filing period begins, candidates will file necessary paperwork with the City Clerk’s office.

To be eligible to vote on May 6, San Angelo residents have to be registered by April 7.
