Dallas-based rock, soul and blues band, the Thieves of Sunrise, will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Concho Pearl Icehouse, 1605 S. Chadbourne St.
The band has seen recent success with its Rock & Soul Revival Tour and the release of its latest work, “Soul Stew.” They’ve opened for the Dallas Stars hockey games at American Airlines Center and hit the road this year to other parts of Texas and even spread out to Louisiana.
The newest tour is the band’s biggest foray thus far, according to lead singer Matthew McDaniel.
“It’s the biggest tour we have ever done and the longest. We are doing it completely independent and grassroots.” McDaniel said. “We’ll be pushing our album, “Soul Stew,” which has been getting international radio play.”
McDaniel said the album, along with the band’s other works, is available online, and on CD and vinyl.
“We’ve spent most of 2016 preparing, writing new material and playing local DFW shows.” McDaniel said. “The tour will have five to six separate portions, West Coast, Midwest, Northeast, East Coast and the South.”
McDaniel said the band will release new material in late 2016, mostly likely in the form of singles, then a new album. They hope for a European tour in 2017, he said.
