The annual Dr. Carol Ann Bonds Texas Research Institute for Young Scholars (TRIYS) Symposium is set to be held March 23 at the Angelo State University Houston Harte University Center, CJ Davidson Conference Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.
San Angelo Independent School District gifted and talented student participants will present their research projects from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Two-hundred fifty children total will be participating in the symposium. Each has spent time researching projects they hold a passion for and addressing how they can make a difference. The students range from first through fifth grades.
The symposium is open to the public.
Retired SAISD superintendent Bonds started the TRYIS program during her tenure as a way to challenge gifted and talented students in the research process. The budding symposium was named in her honor.
