Teens In Big Trouble Over Stolen Vehicle, Identifications and Goods

On Friday, January 5, police were able to locate and apprehend Kennedy D. Counts and Jacob Alvarez, both 17 years of age.

Police were called to S. Bryant Blvd. around 7 a.m. where the two suspects were discovered.

The two adolescents were sought after for the unauthorized use of a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado.

During a search of the vehicle and the suspects’ belongings, police found marijuana, stolen identification of multiple people and stolen property belonging to the owner of the truck.

Upon the arrival of the police, the driver of the vehicle, Counts, exited the vehicle and fled the scene, but was captured after a brief struggle.

The passenger of the vehicle, Alvarez, was injured when he resisted arrest.

Alvarez was taken to a nearby hospital where he was medically cleared and then taken to Tom Green County Jail.

Counts has been charged with Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle, Forgery Financial Instrument, Evading Arrest Detention, Possession of Controlled Substance, and Possession of Marijuana.

Alvarez has been charged with Resist Arrest Search or Transport and Harassment of Public Servant.
