On October 18, the School Resource Officer at Madison Middle School in Abilene received reports of staff and students abusing drugs or possibly selling them.
The officer then called the local Narcotics division to request an investigation.
During the investigation, Narcotics officers spoke to two teachers who admitted to having used prescription drugs the week before. They also implicated a teacher’s aide was involved. These teachers were handed over to AISD for the matter to be handled.
Unrelated to the use of drugs by teachers, two students were also selling prescription drugs provided to them by a cafeteria staff member.
No arrests were made and the names of the minors have not been released.
This is an ongoing investigation and we will update the story as details become available.
