The female driver of a black Nissan SUV was traveling northbound on College Hills Boulevard Monday afternoon, when she drifted across the center lane and struck the trailer of an 18-wheeler headed southbound.
The cause for the driver of the SUV drifting was not immediately known. The driver was the only occupant of the SUV and was transported by ambulance to Community Medical Center for treatment of non-incapacitating injuries, according to Officer John Bouligny from the San Angelo Police Department.
The driver and passenger of the 18-wheeler were not injured.
Traffic was down to one lane on College Hills going north and blocked to oncoming traffic from Millbrook Drive to Vista del Arroyo, southbound on College Hills, until the City Lumber 18-wheeler could unload its cargo and be removed from the road.
The crash remains under investigation, however, Bouligny said speed did not appear to be a factor.
