Suspect taken into custody after CVS robbery

A 27-year old man was taken into custody after a robbery at a local CVS store Tuesday evening.

Officer Travis Griffith with the San Angelo Police Department said officers responded to a call about a robbery at 6:51 p.m. at the CVS, 318 W. Beauregard Ave., but when they got there the suspect had already left the scene.

After speaking with multiple witnesses who reported they had seen the suspect in the parking lot across the street, several officers were able to apprehend the man and take him into custody.

The man had allegedly waved a knife around in anger inside CVS before he later left the store.

Because officers were concerned that he had swallowed too many pills they transported him to the emergency room at a local hospital, Griffith said.

The suspect is facing aggravated robbery charges after the incident.

The identity of the man has not been released.
