Snake falls from overhead compartment on plane to Mexico City

Passengers on a Sunday flight to Mexico City had a little scare when a five-foot snake fell out of an overhead compartment during the flight.

The reptile is seen in a video posted to the Spanish publication, El Debate, slithering out from its hiding place. El Debate reports flight attendants notified the pilot who immediately organized an emergency landing.

The professor from Universidad Politécnica de la Región Laguna who tweeted the video in Spanish said: “The flying snake. A unique experience on a flight from Torreon, Mexico, flight 231 of Aeromexico. That being so … priority landing.”

The professor said later added that Mexico City’s animal control division came onto the plane to secure the “unexpected traveler.”
