Six Permian Basin men have been arrested as part of a multi-agency undercover online investigation of targeted sexual predators.
Carey Matthews, Texas Department of Public Safety Region IV, said the joint effort was carried out by the Midland County Sheriff’s Office and its SWAT team, the Midland County District Attorney’s Office, the Andrews Police Department, Odessa Police Department, the FBI and Homeland Security Investigations, along with DPS and its criminal investigations division and highway patrol and aircraft divisions.
“On June 3 and June 4, Midland-based DPS special agents and the agency partners conducted a two-day operation ultimately resulting in six suspects being arrested on state charges for online solicitation of a minor, a second degree felony,” Matthews said at a press conference Thursday.
The men arrested were: Mathew Holman, 35, Fabian Ray Galindo, 20, and Chad Alan Potts, 46, all of Odessa; Jeremiah Jordan Easley, 27, and Lyle Joseph Heinzman, 23, both of Midland; and James Shannon Dyche, 41, of Grandfalls. They were booked into the Midland County Jail. Their prosecution will be Midland County District Attorney Teresa Clingman, who said her office would work to make sure their punishments were in line with the crime committed.
Matthews said since November 2013, 26 individuals in the Permian Basin have been arrested and charged with enticement of a minor.
“This is all due to the efforts of the agencies that stand here with me today.” he said.
