At least one person is reported dead after a sinkhole in San Antonio opened and swallowed two vehicles Sunday evening.
Mysa.com reports the sinkhole is in the 8400 block of Quintana Road and is the diameter of the street. The sinkhole is holding about 12 feet of water and was likely caused by a large sewer line rupture Sunday evening.
A 60-year-old man was one of the people who drove into the hole, and was rescued by passersby. He was treated at a San Antonio hospital for minor injuries.
Emergency personnel were working Monday morning to remove the unidentified person’s body from the sinkhole Monday morning.
