The driver of a Nissan Titan was transported to Shannon Medical Center by ambulance Thursday morning after driving into a culvert in a single-vehicle crash in the 4500 block of South Jackson Street between Adobe and Gibbs streets.
Officer Ed Hunger, San Angelo Police Department traffic investigator, said the driver mostly likely stopped at the stop sign on Gibbs and Jackson, gave the vehicle too much gas at the stop sign, spun out, lost control and went into the ditch.
The female driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and her injuries appeared to be non-life threatening, according to Hunger.
Hunger said citations for either exhibition of acceleration or traveling at unsafe speed are possible for the driver. He said weather could have been a factor in the crash because there was moisture in the air that caused the streets to be slick.
