Shots fired at Michigan courthouse, two bailiffs and suspect dead, multiple injuries

Michigan State Police have secured a courthouse in Berrien County, Michigan, after reports of shots fired, according to a tweet from Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder.

Snyder said the MSP is investigating the incident.

WOOD television station is reporting that multiple people have been shot and three of those victims have died. A county commissioner told the station that two of the victims are courthouse employees and the other was an inmate who was in custody at the time of the shooting. The commissioner said the inmate was the shooter.

In a press conference at 3 p.m. CST, Sheriff L. Paul Bailey said that two bailiffs are dead and one deputy sheriff has been shot during a disturbance on the third floor at the Berrien County Courthouse. The suspect is also dead.

Other injuries have been reported. The case is under investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies.
