Five women and two men were arrested in Houston Tuesday after a week-long prostitution and human trafficking investigation.
After deputy constables contacted several of the suspects online, arrangements were made to meet at a hotel near I-45 in the Spring area.
Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman said the arrestees included one teenager who is a high schooler in the Spring area.
The charges include prostitution, compelling prostitution and outstanding warrants, according to Click2Houston.
Herman told reporters that this kind of crime is becoming more prevalent. “Many of these places they come to are right outside our neighborhoods where our kids are playing and folks live. We all know how prostitution brings other crimes to our area,” he stated. “We’re gonna put them in jail and do what we can to keep Precinct 4 safe.”
