Saturday rain showers won’t stop local events from continuing

The Concho Valley has a 40 percent chance of rain Saturday with mainly isolated storms with the best chances along the Interstate 10 corridor.

According to National Weather Service meteorologist Joel Dunn, a cold front is headed our direction and has already moved through Abilene. A high of 78 is expected and the cold front will keep the temperature from breaching 90.

On Sunday and Monday a chance of showers and thunderstorms will continue. A prediction of 50 to 60 percent chance of showers on Sunday.  Main hazards are large hail, damaging winds and dangerous lighting.

Rainfall amounts for the next week range two to three inches in this area.

Saturday’s events will still continue despite rain showers. The Blue’s Festival, 11 East Twohig and The Biggest Darn Garage Sale in San Angelo begins at 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the Heroes Gym parking lot, 4110 Sunset Drive.
