Saturday cold front brings rainfall and thunderstorms in the Concho Valley

A cold front has made its way Saturday morning, bringing along a wide spread of showers and thunderstorms for the Concho Valley.

National Weather Service meteorologist Joel Dunn said, rain chances are expected to last until this afternoon and will fade in the evening, but will remain at a 20 to 30 percent chance around the Interstate 30 corridor .

Saturday will remain mostly cloudy, with a high near 81 and northeast winds around 15 mph. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch are estimated, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

A flood advisory has been issued for Tom Green County and is expected to last until 12 p.m. Dunn said flood advisories are sent out when low water crossings are expected to see a lot of rainfall, and the public should remain cautious and aware in these conditions.

Tonight a low around 63 with north northeast winds ranging 5 to 15 mph are expected.
