SAPD seeks public’s help in identifying city hall art thief

The San Angelo Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying the man featured in these photos.

On Dec. 30, 2016, the man stole a painting from the fourth floor of San Angelo City Hall, 72 West College Avenue. The painting is valued at approximately $9,000.

The man appears to be Caucasian, over 60, with salt-and-pepper hair. He was wearing a black western hat, brown jacket, light-colored long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and dark boots.

After removing the painting, the man exited city hall with the painting concealed in his jacket, walked across the street, and left in a dark-colored older model pickup.
