SAPD: Investigating two robberies involving firearms

Within the last several months there has been a string of convenience store robberies in San Angelo. Now, the San Angelo Police Department has two additional robberies to add to the list, but this time thieves targeted a convenience store and a local gaming spot. 

Police are investigating two separate robberies that occurred Tuesday at the Snack and Save on Howard Street and a second Wednesday morning at the Lucky Sweepstakes on Caddo Street.

According to police, at 8:18 p.m., a Hispanic male entered the Snack and Save, 2220 Howard St., wearing a black hoodie with his face covered. The man pointed a gun at a customer before robbing the money out of the cash register and leaving the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim described the suspect as a 25-year old male, approximately 5’5” tall.

The second robbery occurred at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday at Luck Sweepstakes, 1007 Caddo St. The victim told police that a black male entered the business through the front door, indicated he had a gun and demanded money from the cash registers.  He is described as weighing between 180-200 lbs and approximately 5’6”-5’9″ tall.

There were no injuries in both robberies and police have not located the suspects.
