SAPD investigating aggravated assault with a knife

The San Angelo Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault that left a woman injured Sunday night.  Officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Shelton Street at approximately 10 p.m. Sunday.

According to a press release from the SAPD, the victim told police she answered the door and a man reached up and cut her with a knife. The man then fled the scene in a white pickup truck. She described him as a Hispanic male wearing a black trench coat with a grey hoodie and grey sweatpants. The victim told police she did not know the man, but had seen him before.

The 24-year old woman’s injuries were minor and treated at the scene by San Angelo Fire Department paramedics.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
