SAPD Blotter: Tuesday arrests include public intoxication, DWI and theft

The San Angelo Police Department made several arrests Tuesday. Charges included public intoxication, theft, driving while intoxicated and criminal trespass.

Yolanda Garcia Sanchez, 51, was arrested for public intoxication and theft Class C around 3:31 p.m. after police were dispatched to the 7-11 Convenience Store, 2202 N. Chadbourne St., for the report of an unwanted subject. Sanchez reportedly went inside the store, grabbed and drank an alcoholic beverage, attempted to leave without paying and verbally abused store clerks.

Vanessa Joyce Stephens, 32, was arrested for driving while intoxicated around 8:38 p.m. after officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Duggan Street for the report of an unknown medical issue. Officers determined Stephens was intoxicated on an unknown substance and Stephens was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and evaluation. Stephens was eventually released and transported to the Tom Green County Jail.

Jessica Lynn Nicole Young, 18, and Desarae Marie Zamora, 18, were arrested for theft of property >= $100<$750 around 7 p.m. after police were dispatched to Target, 4235 Sunset Drive, for the report of shoplifting in progress. The pair tried to steal approximately $129 in jewelry from the store.
