Unemployment in San Angelo dipped from 4.5% to 4% in April. That’s also lower than the 4.4% posted in April 2016.
San Angelo’s employment rate was better than the state’s (95.5%) and the nation’s (95.9%).
Cathy Ballard, director of planning for the Concho Valley Workforce Development Board, reported this:
“There are over 1,700 job postings in our area and over 400 in transportation and material moving. We have a great deal of construction going on in the area with the new buildings and road work on Sherwood Way. The trucking companies are hiring CDL drivers for hauling sand, and the new wind farm near Melvin is hiring for several positions.”
