San Angelo police investigating Stripes robbery

The San Angelo Police Department is investigating an early morning robbery at the Stripes Convenience Store at 1821 N. Bryant Blvd.

At 1:40 a.m. Monday, the SAPD responded to a robbery call at the convenience store. The clerk reported a man entered the store wearing all black with his face covered. The man pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money from the cash register.

According to a press release from the SAPD, the man left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police set up a perimeter in the area and attempted to locate the suspect, but he was not found.

The incident is under investigation and there is no other information for release at this time. Det. M. Hawthorne is the lead investigator for this case.
