Shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday, San Angelo Police were called to 19 W. Avenue O on a report of a stabbing. While officers were en route, the report was upgraded to a shooting.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
An officer at the scene said, “He was able to tell us he was accosted by a male who hit him with a pistol, shot him and took his vehicle.”
Police said the victim was transported to Shannon Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. His name has not been released at this time.
Shell casings and bullets were found at the scene.
Police are currently searching for the suspect.
