San Angelo man shot on Mother’s Day

A 37-year old San Angelo man is receiving medical treatment at Shannon Medical Center after an accidental shooting in his lower body Sunday morning.

According to Officer Brian Gesch, San Angelo Police Department received a call about a shooting victim at 10:16 a.m. Sunday at the Windmill Park Apartments, 1920 Raney St.


“The victim was transported for a gunshot wound in a personal vehicle to Shannon Medical Center where he is receiving medical treatment at this time,” Gesch said.

According to Gesch, the victim is a 37-year old black male, he is conscious and the officers are still with him at the hospital.

Officers met the victim and learned he had a gunshot wound to his lower body. The victim stated the gunshot was accidental.


Detective Anderson with the Criminal Investigation Division responded to conduct an investigation. At this time the shooting is still under investigation and there is no other information for release at this time.
