Safety City Savers planning work day Saturday

The Safety City Savers, a group of third graders from Tammy Fluitt’s class at Fort Concho Elementary School, are planning a work day at Safety City from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday on 12th Street and Martin Luther King Drive.

As part of the Texas Research Institute for Young Scholars competition, Fluitt’s gifted and talented class came up with several ideas to help the San Angelo Police Department and the San Angelo Fire Department revive Safety City.

They are selling T-shirts with  logo they created and were able to screenprint with the help of Peggy McElrath at Adobe Signs and T-shirts. Cost per shirt is $15.

The Savers are looking for volunteers to help with the work day. To volunteer, contact Jeremy Slatton at Fort Concho at jeremy.slatton@saisd.org or call him at 325-659-3654, ext. 111.
