Anyone who would like to apply to be a San Angelo police officer can take the department’s entrance exam for rookie police officer on April 23.
The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. April 15, at the City of San Angelo’s human resources department, 1 City Hall Plaza.
The exam will be held April 23, at the McNease Convention Center, 501 Rio Concho Drive. Registration is from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Applicants are required to present their driver’s license and Social Security card at registration.
Study material for the peace officer civil service entrance exam can be checked out from the SAPD’s Community Services Division at 505 S. Chadbourne St. after the application for the exam is filed with human resources. The material is free of charge to borrow prior to testing.
Applicants who traveling 90 miles or more will be allowed to take the physical agility test immediately following the written exam. Local applicants will all complete the physical agility test on April 30 at a time and location to be determined after the written exam is complete.
