Reward offered for second suspect in Temple double-shooting, deaths

Law enforcement officials are searching for 20-year old Justin Slatton Jr. in connection with an April 13 shooting that resulted in the deaths of two Bell County men.

The Temple Police Department is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to Slatton’s arrest.
Members of  Temple’s General Investigation’s Unit, the San Angelo Police Department, the Texas Rangers and the Department of Public Safety are currently in San Angelo actively searching for Slatton.
According to a press release from the SAPD, Slatton has two active warrants for murder and is considered armed and dangerous.
On May 9, the joint apprehension team located and arrested 17-year-old Lupe M. Chappa III from a residence in the 2400 block of Culver Avenue in San Angelo. Chappa is being held in the Tom Green County Jail in lieu of bail set at $2 million.
In addition to the reward from Temple PD, San Angelo Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of $250 for information that leads to Slatton’s arrest. He has an additional warrant for burglary of a building issued in Tom Green County.
