Registration has opened for the 17th annual Shannon Sporting Clay Shoot, planned for July 15-16 at the San Angelo Claybird Association, 12026 US Highway 67 S.
According to a press release from Shannon Medical Center’s marketing department, the event is the largest charity shoot in the state, attracting more than 700 shooters and 1,500 spectators annually.
Registration is $150 per shooter.
There will be three shooting rotations at the event. The first rotation is scheduled for 4 p.m. July 15; the second at 8:30 a.m. July 16; and the third will be at noon July 16. There will be three courses during each rotation with 100 targets per course. More than 40 guns will be given away through random drawings during a live auction.
The annual event benefits multiple departments at Shannon with the 2016 shoot assisting AirMed 1 regional outreach, diabetes management outreach, outpatient dialysis programs and Shannon care coordination. Additionally, Shannon Cares fund for case management and Shannon supportive health services will be assisted with funds raised at the event.
