Record high reached Wednesday afternoon, Thursday will be cooler

After reaching a record high of 83 degrees in San Angelo Thursday, temperatures will cool into the mid-50s Thursday and Friday with slight rain chances at week’s end.

San Angelo’s previous record high for Dec. 28 was 81 degrees in 1924.

Thursday will be partly sunny with a high near 55 and northeast winds at 10 to 15 mph. Thursday night will be mostly cloudy with a low around 38 and northeast winds around 5 mph, becoming calm in the evening.

On Friday, there’s a 20 percent chance of showers and an expected high of 54. Friday’s low will be 44.
