The Angelo State No. 6 men’s and No. 9 women’s track and field teams both won the Angelo State University David Noble Relays Saturday, with 220 and 230.5 points at LeGrand Stadium at First Community Credit Union Field.
According to the release issued by ASU, numerous seasonal and personal bests were hit at the meet. The Rambelles received the women’s title ahead of Texas A&M-Commerce with 151 points, while the Rams won the 4×400 meter relay to secure the team title over Texas A&M-Commerce.
Combined, the two ASU teams have 15 event titles and 14 NCAA Division II provisional marks along with the heptathlon and decathlon.
According to the release, after the game Angelo State head track and field coach James Reid said “I am proud of our teams and the way they competed. We always want to win our home meet and they had to fight for it. It was exciting to see all the seasonal, personal and qualifying marks we had.”
On Saturday, the Rams and Rambelles will head to the Red Raider Open in Lubbock.
